I always wanted to create an immersive 360° surreal enviroment to go along with my original series..
It seemed like a natural progression to the "Surrealistic Pillow Project", the series that I have been working on for nine years now.
In the series, I try to depict dreams using the optical tools that are unique to the medium of photography.
Now, I am using photography’s deceptive "realness" to create a new type of image in 360 degrees.
When dreaming you believe you are experiencing some kind of otherworldy scene. You believe your eyes because the optics check out, even if it’s just for a moment.
For the longest time I have wanted to make an image that would immerse the viewer in a new way-
a “Dream Scene” in 360 degrees.
I wanted it to be immersive, that no matter where you look- you are there, standing in the scene, you can move your mouse to look at any detail and really explore the environment.
We are so used to 2D imagery, that working with this new groundbreaking and exciting VR tool gives us the opportunity to actively participate in a new type of art experience.
Though the image is done, I find myself every so often wanting to go back and “hang out” in that magical room, having a nighttime jellyfish story come to life for me as it did when I was a child.
I am excited to use this new type of immersive enviroment to create fine art and commercial applications.

Jellyfish: are softbodied free-swimming aquatic animals with a gelatinous umbrella-shaped bell and trailing tentacles.
Dreams: are a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep
